Business Development Manager

SaveMoneyCutCarbon are in a significant growth phase and we are recruiting experienced Business Development Managers to join our successful Enterprise Team, to support the identification and development of low/zero carbon and sustainable retrofits to our prospects & clients existing buildings.
Measures and interventions to be identified and implemented include specialist LED lighting, standard LED lighting, Solar PV, Heat Pumps, HVAC insulation, Building Fabric measures, water saving measures, Variable Speed Drives, Building Energy Management Systems, Monitoring and Metering, energy storage and many more energy/water/carbon efficiency improvements.
Our clients range from prestigious names in Hospitality, Education, Horti/Agri, to local authorities and SMEs. Through our partnership process we have a significant client base who need to be sold by the competence and knowledge of our business development team.
We are looking for an energetic, focussed, and self-motivated solutions-based Business Development Manager who will be responsible for developing new business. You will do this by becoming a trusted advisor, providing direction & insight to win business for long term net-zero programmes. The successful candidate will have the presence to operate at all levels including senior C- level executives, be a great listener, and have a track record of winning new business.
Key Accountabilities
1. Identify new business opportunities & drive new sales business
2. Develop & implement a business & sales strategy to enhance the growth of our core business in line with agreed revenue & target market
3. Identify opportunities, capture value and win deals
4. Drive increased revenue & profit to achieve the Company’s ambitious growth plans in the UK
5. Build strong relationships to become a credible trusted advisor to our clients
6. Attend conferences and events.
7. Creating accurate sales forecasts and actively working towards them
8. Good interpersonal skills- ability to work across the business with various stakeholders
9. Managing a sales pipeline from lead generation to close, clearly articulating the sales proposition
10. Developing, maintaining & reporting on a pipeline through the CRM
11. Support the Commercial Department by liaising with supply chain partners in the preparation of proposal documentation, including technical narratives / scopes / specifications and supporting rationales and if required, coordinate tendering of subcontracts and evaluate supplier proposals to ensure technical engineering and commercial compliance.
12. To undertake joint tasks and projects with the wider company to meet strategic objectives.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Strong business development background
- Experience of solution/consultative selling & building bespoke value propositions with customers across a complex range of technology & solutions
- Have experience in developing solutions and building business cases to close sales with to C-level executives
- Desirable experience selling solutions with deal sizes £50K plus
- Experience of influencing and developing relationships at varying levels within businesses both internally & externally
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills & attention to detail
- A passion for, or an interest in the Sustainability sector
- Self- motivated & results focussed with a drive to succeed
- Strong commercial acumen, interpersonal and communication skills
